The color, poetic presentation of flowers ,shadows and hidden feelings are definitely my fav parts of the drama. The directing is the best part of the drama in my opinion. Later, when she becomes a concubine, she looks so mature that we miss her playful self ,running freely in the palace in early episodes. So immature and adolescent nature of the character is portrayed. īut they are like 17 and 18 years old respectively in early part of the drama. You may be annoyed by female lead's acting in early episodes. The Acting from main leads and all supporting characters are well portrayed. Not only the major characters but also the minor ones are well developed and they have lives of their own. The plot is the weakest link of the drama, but it's above average in terms of story writing. That Gaze is the thing, some audience of the drama even question the real life relationship of the two main actors ,Junho and Lee Seyoung.Īlso a good drama is not only about plot, acting, directing and music score are also parts of the drama. Red sleeve is a melodrama, so its central core romance is definitely Slow Burn type.įor slow burn romance, Longing ,Anger and Jealousy are the main ingredients and they are definitely well portrayed by our two main leads. The actors did very well and the drama (except the script) was very high quality.įor the hype, I will explain it from my POV. You can feel the longing, pain, and love through San and Deokim's eyes only. If you can bear to watch her acting on the first episodes, you'll see how her emotions changed as she grew older. They failed to explain Deokim's actions and as a viewer, undertood her only on the last episodes. SPOILER! It was supposed to be about the life of the women inside the palace but regrettably, they focused more on the Crown Prince's emotions and the politics in the palace. Before watching this drama, you mustn't have any expectations on the romance because it's a melodrama. The cast, their acting, and directing were all perfect for me. If you're only looking for a feel-good drama, this isn't it. I feel like this drama is for people who are willing to get immersed into the characters and the story itself. I've never waited for the next episode crazily like I did on this one and it's been almost five months and I've never moved on from it. It's the first sageuk drama that made me laugh, cringe and cry.
